  • What are typical commission rates in Vancouver?
    The average commission charged by real estate agents (agents) in Vancouver can vary depending on factors including the property in question, brokerage, market conditions and number of real estate agents competing for business in the area. Typically, commission rates are 7% on the first $100,000 and 3.0% on the balance of the sale price, with the commission being split between the listing agent and the buyer's agent. Some agents may charge a higher commission rate, while others may charge a lower rate or offer a different type of fee structure. It is always best to discuss and compare commission rates, fees and services with a number of agents before deciding on which realtor to list your property with.
  • Is it possible to negotiate commission rates?
    Yes. You can negotiate commission with a real estate agent. Commission rates are negotiable and can vary depending on the individual real estate agent or brokerage. It is important to understand that commission is a form of compensation for the real estate agent's services, which include listing and marketing the property, showing the property to potential buyers, and helping to negotiate a sale.     No. Your contact information is not shared with agents. If you receive a listing proposal that you like, or would like to find out more about, it is up to you to contact the agent or agents of your choice.
  • Do agents pay referral fees to AgentMarket?
    No. There are no referral fees charged to agents or commission splits paid by agents to AgentMarket. We aim to avoid conflicts of interest between us and our users and as such our business model also does not rely on fees for promoting or providing preferential exposure of certain real estate agents, unlike many of the competitior websites.
